Ramping up MobiHealthNews in 2011

By Brian Dolan

Brian Dolan, Editor, MobiHealthNewsThanks to you, our readers, these past twelve months have been especially productive for MobiHealthNews. In 2010 I had the pleasure of participating in mobile health events across the US, the UK and the Middle East.

Last year the MobiHealthNews team produced eight in-depth research reports, which created a new revenue stream for our little publishing startup, and provided the mobile health community with a series of reports focused on some of the issues it faced. Regulation. The messy (and increasingly growing) world of health and medical apps. Tablets. And more.

MobiHealthNews also had the pleasure of receiving mentions from a number of other publications and media outlets: The Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch, BBC, FastCompany, Gizmodo, ReadWriteWeb, Forbes, and many others. Clearly, just as we have grown, interest in mobile health has, too.

Our publication and the industry it covers has certainly come along way since we began interviewing mobile health thought leaders in 2008, and along with the industry, we begin the New Year with many exciting prospects.

Here's one: I am delighted to welcome veteran health IT journalist and editor Neil Versel to the MobiHealthNews team as a Contributing Editor. Many of you have undoubtedly followed Neil's most recent work as editor of FierceMobileHealthcare, but he's been covering the ins and outs of healthcare for more than 10 years. At MobiHealthNews Neil will contribute a few articles each week: including commentary on mobile health trends, interviews with industry luminaries and coverage of the news as it breaks. Joe and I are both excited to have an additional voice in the publication.

Here's to a productive and newsworthy 2011!
