Get ready for another day of demonstrations and information gathering in the Exhibit Hall.

First-time participant Proofpoint will be showcasing a full suite of e-mail security and compliance solutions. The booth will feature case studies on how healthcare customers – including Kaiser Permanente, Hospital Corporation of America, LifeLink Foundation and DeKalb Medical Center – use Proofpoint solutions to block spam and viruses, comply with e-mail-related regulations, prevent confidential information from leaking via e-mail, and archive e-mail for legal discovery, regulatory compliance and improved e-mail storage management.

“We’re excited to participate in the HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo,” said Tracie Bonuccelli, senior marketing programs manager. “With the no-hassle online format, it’s the perfect venue to put healthcare security and risk professionals from a range of organizations in touch with our e-mail security experts.”

Enovate will be exhibiting its line of mobile and wall-mounted clinical workstations for the healthcare environment. “These solutions integrate seamlessly into any healthcare environment, from nursing homes and long-term facilities to private practices and hospitals,” said Tommy Hodge, marketing and sales specialist.

Attendees can view and download information about Enovate’s ergonomic and space-saving wall-mounted workstations, mobile computer carts and medication transport storage systems.

“Enovate has participated in Virtual HIMSS for the past three years because it provides an opportunity to network with those in the healthcare IT community without the exhibitor or attendee needing to travel,” Hodge said. Being able to communicate from Enovate’s headquarters while attendees are in their office means both parties have the resources necessary to share thoughts and ideas about the company’s solutions, he added.

Returning exhibitor Alcatel-Lucent will demonstrate its In-building Wireless Continuity Solution, which enables increased mobility of clinical information systems, and its launch of the MyICPhone. The MyICPhone enhances productivity and employee engagement, provides real-time anywhere capability and open technology that can be used to produce, edit, and share content, according to the company.

HIMSS Central’s booth is the place to learn how HIMSS frames and leads healthcare practices and public policy through its content expertise, professional development, research initiatives designed to promote IT and management systems’ contributions to ensuring quality patient care, according to Cari McLean, program manager for communications at HIMSS.

“HIMSS Central connects attendees with tools, white papers, publications and podcasts around meaningful use, EHRs, patient safety and quality outcomes, information exchange and more,” she said.

Visitors can learn how to expand their professional network by engaging with HIMSS on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and its blog. Attendees can also download to their briefcases details on upcoming HIMSS events and CPHIMS.

“Staff is available to chat, answer questions and help you get connected with the right resources or contacts,” McLean said.

The Biomedical and Health Sciences Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) offers a suite of programs, which include the Master of Science in Health Informatics, Post-Masters Certificate in Health Informatics and Post-Baccalaureate in Health Information Management (RHIA).

At UIC’s booth, UIC Program Director Larry Pawola will provide a background on the department’s degree options. “Each of these degree options has the ability to advance a student’s career, help them transform the use of health care information and improve the quality of patient care,” he said.
