In the wake of the Cambridge Analytica - Facebook data scandal, researchers set out a roadmap for the health and science community to restore the public's trust in big data.
The announcement comes after a new review found that more than 230 million errors occur every year in England in the medication process.
A recent NHS Digital survey of social workers highlighted that the majority wanted to see easier methods of information-sharing to support their work. A key challenge to achieving this, unsurprisingly, was sharing data with health organisations.
“Our quest is to harness large-scale data analysis and technology to power the UK as a leader in the field of precision health,” Professor Andrew Morris, Health Data Research UK Director, said at the Festival of Genomics in London last month.
