The announcement comes not long after competitor One Drop began rolling out its similar offering in Apple Stores and Walmarts.

The new funding news comes less than a year after the company closed an $8 million Series A round. 

The online tool helps users raise funds and coordinate care from peers.

The startup develops non-invasive blood tests that achieve early cancer detection and improve treatment selection.

BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners led the round with participation from Threshold Ventures, F-Prime Capital and Wellframe's existing clients. 

CEO Adrian Gilmore said the company is looking at strategic partnerships, M&A and other general scaling of the business in the year to come.

The company plans to use the funding to expand its capabilities to identify more conditions incuding schizophrenia and multiple sclerosis. 

The acquisition will include Biovotions' wearables, patents, staff, partners and clients. 

Forest Devices' system, which employs disposable EEG caps and AI to streamline stroke care, was highlighted by judges and audience members over the cardiac offerings of fellow finalists Welldoc, PhysIQ, Happify Health, Qura and VUNO.
